Wolsak and Wynn author Peter Midgley, whose fine memoir Counting Teeth: A Namibian Story hit bookstores earlier this month, will be reading at THIN AIR's BIG IDEAS series on Friday, September 26, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Join Peter at The Millennium Library (251 Donald Street) in Winnipeg to hear an excerpt from the book and more about the experiences that inspired it.
On Saturday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to noon, Peter dons his editor's hat to host The Writing Craft workshop Editing--The Masterclass Every Writer Needs to Take.
Writer and woodworker John Terpstra is also heading west. He'll join fellow writer/woodworker Kate Braid for the "Wood and Words" tour throughout British Columbia. The tour runs September 25 to October 1 and includes stops at Hornby Island, Pender Island, Victoria, Vancouver and Nanaimo. Wolsak and Wynn re-released John's well-loved, previously out-of-print collection Naked Trees in 2012, illustrated with woodcuts by artist Wesley Bates. A chapbook of selected poems, This Orchard Sound, was published earlier this month.
